Built to be trusted when it matters

The AI that shows its work

AI answers cite the source article they came from — no citation, no answer. For medical, safety and foraging questions, the AI does not invent an answer: it routes you to the source text and opens the right page.

Honest speed: on a typical laptop CPU expect single-digit tokens per second — a patient assistant. On a consumer GPU, roughly 30–50 tokens per second. No “200 tok/s” theatre.

Free updates forever

Free downloadable update packs, forever. No account, no subscription. Quarterly curated refresh packs and a dated Annual Edition each year. Never want to connect the drive? Use the $19 mail-in Annual Edition refresh.

Phone companion app

Sync a slice of the library and maps to your phone for fully offline use away from the drive — search, read, navigate with GPS, even in airplane mode.

Scenario modes

Hurricane, Grid-Down, RV & Overland, Marine and Homeschool modes re-order the same library around the situation you are actually in.

Self-check verification

Every launch verifies the library against its signed content register and reports “library verified.” Each unit ships with a printed verification card with its content hash.

1-year warranty

Every drive carries a stated 1-year drive warranty. Passworded out of the box, a manual that lives inside the product, and basic support included — we sell the drive, not a subscription.

Selected by someone who answers the call

Blackout Bible is selected, ordered and introduced by a working firefighter/paramedic and paramedic instructor.

Every competitor's medical shelf is an uncurated dump. Ours is a paramedic's shelf: what to open first in a hurricane, in a grid-down week, with a backcountry injury — the reference layer, organised by someone who uses this knowledge on shift.

This is preparedness, professionally — without doom theatre. No fear marketing, no inflated claims, and AI limits stated plainly on this page and on the box.

FAQ

Is it fully offline?

Yes. The library, maps, routing and local AI run on your own computer with no internet connection. You only need internet if you choose to download a free update pack — or mail the drive in for the $19 Annual Edition refresh instead.

What computer do I need?

A computer you already own — the drive is a pocket SSD that runs on your machine, not a separate box. A typical modern laptop is enough for the library and maps. The local AI is patient on CPU (single-digit tokens/second) and much faster on a consumer GPU (about 30–50 tokens/second). The phone companion app covers you away from the computer.

How big is the library?

It scales by edition. Field carries the core library and medical pack; Homestead (256 GB) carries about 210 GB — full-text Wikipedia, the full medical shelf, US maps + routing and more; Archive swaps in full Wikipedia with images; AI Max reaches about 800 GB of content on 1 TB.

What are the AI's limits — honestly?

It is a research assistant over the books on the drive, not an oracle. Answers cite their source article. Medical, safety and foraging questions are routed to the source text — the AI will find and open the right page rather than generating treatment advice. Speed depends on your hardware, as stated above.

How do updates work?

Free downloadable update packs, forever, no account and no subscription. Quarterly curated packs plus an Annual Edition each January. The $19 mail-in service exists for owners who never connect the drive.

What warranty do I get?

A stated 1-year drive warranty, plus a per-unit printed verification card recording that the drive's library passed its self-check.

When can I buy it?

Not yet — it is not on sale. The Founding Edition email list is open now (top of this page). The first batch will be Homestead 256 GB, Founding Edition 2026. Sales open only after final legal review — including IP-attorney review, trademark clearance and a review of the product cards — is complete. Join the list and you will hear first.
